Is this a chartered cruise?

LoveLit Cruise is a partial charter aboard the Scarlet Lady with Virgin Voyages.

Unlike large reader conferences, this experience is intentionally intimate. You won’t be rushed through a signing line—you’ll have real opportunities to connect with authors and fellow readers throughout the sailing.

Can I book somewhere else?

No. LoveLit Cruise is a contracted group sailing.

Only sailors booked within our group can access LoveLit events. If you’d like a different cabin category (like a suite), email lovelit@bettybrowntravel.com and we’ll help you book within the group.

What’s included in the price?

Your LoveLit Cruise is designed to be a high-value, broadly inclusive experience.

Your cruise fare includes:

• Cabin accommodations

• 20+ onboard eateries

• Meals at The Beach Club at Bimini

• Essential drinks (water, soda, juice, coffee, tea)

• Wi-Fi

• Group fitness classes

• Onboard entertainment

• Gratuities, taxes and fees

• $200 bar tab

Plus all LoveLit programming:

• Author stage events (details coming soon)

• Theme nights & cocktail parties

• Games & immersive experiences

• Author experiences (limited capacity)

Can children or teenagers attend?

No. Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line. All sailors must be 18+.

How much does it cost?

What is the reservation fee?

• $325 per person (double occupancy)

• $400 total (solo travelers)

Reservation fees are applied to the balance and are non-refundable.

What is the cancellation policy?

Reservation fees are non-refundable, and refunds are not available after final payment.

Transfers are limited, may include a fee, and are not permitted within 30 days of sailing. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. If you need help with travel insurance, let us know and we can help!

Do I need a passport?

U.S. citizens can cruise without a passport, but it is strongly recommended for smoother travel and emergencies.

Non-U.S. citizens must have a valid passport.

Can I book a suite?

Yes—based on availability. Email lovelit@bettybrowntravel.com and we’ll assist you.

What’s not included?

A few things are not included in your fare:

• Flights & ground transportation

• Travel insurance

• Spa, salon, tattoos/piercings

• Specialty drinks beyond included beverages

• Shore excursions

• Shopping & onboard purchases

• Medical services

 

Where are we sailing?

The 2027 LoveLit Cruise sails from Miami to Puerto Plata (DR) and The Beach Club at Bimini, then returns to Miami.

 

What are the cabins like?

All cabins include:

• Rain showers

• Toiletries & hair dryer

• Closet space

• Small fridge

• Convertible bed/lounge setup

• Towels & safe

• TV & mood lighting

Sea Terrace cabins include a hammock or balcony chair.
Sea View cabins include a porthole window seat.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is limited to designated areas (casino room and a section of Deck 16).

Smoking elsewhere—including cabins and balconies—may result in a $500 fee and possible removal from the ship.

 

What else is there to do onboard?

Virgin Voyages offers a full schedule of daily activities, including:

• Pool parties & sail away events

• Live music, comedy, and shows

• Trivia, games, and crafts

• Fitness classes & wellness offerings

• Scarlet Night & themed parties
