What is the LoveLit Cruise?

The LoveLit Cruise is a boutique romance readers convention at sea!

Imagine your favorite land-based reader's convention but purposefully scaled down to be an intimate affair.

You will have the opportunity to connect with other romance readers, and meet authors and influencers all while enjoying a luxury sea vacation.

You can expect book signings, author panels, Q&A sessions, theme nights, parties, games, crafts, author-led experiences, meetups, new friends, and more!

How can I meet authors and other content creators during the cruise? 

The LoveLit Cruise is designed to offer countless chances to connect with authors and influencers. Beyond the signing event, you'll enjoy panels, engaging games, small group activities, and author-hosted social events. Plus, you're vacationing together on the cruise! Each day’s agenda will outline the scheduled activities, so you can easily find time to meet and mingle with fellow readers, authors, and influencers.

Will there be a special swag bag for attendees?

Absolutely! We can’t wait for you to see the fantastic swag we’ve curated just for you.

I'm an influencer. How can I get more involved?

We are launching out Sailor Hype Squad soon! Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to get all the details!

 

I’m coming alone. How can I start meeting people? 

We’re setting up an app to help you connect with fellow sailors to ensure you can start meeting before you even set sail. You’ll get access 30 days before the cruise to chat with other attendees. Also, don’t forget to join our monthly book club and Facebook group and our Solo Sailors FB group to begin making friends now! The Solo Sailors FB group can also be used to find a roommate!

 

How much time will be dedicated to group events vs. personal time? 

That’s completely up to you! There will be activities scheduled throughout the day and evening. During our stop in Turks & Caicos, most activities will involve excursions, but we’ll also offer, if we have interest, some options onboard for those who prefer to relax. At the Beach Club in Bimini, the day’s events will take place at the included Beach Club. On our sea day, optional activities will be available throughout the day aboard the ship.

 

Are there designated spaces to hang out with others or relax on my own?

Yes, the Scarlet Lady offers plenty of cozy lounges and beautiful outdoor areas. Whether you want to join others or find a quiet spot to relax with a book, you’ll have lots of options to choose from!

Is there an anti-harassment policy?

LoveLit Cruise is proud to foster an inclusive, caring, and comfortable atmosphere for our attendees, authors, vendors, and staff. We maintain a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind. Harassment or discrimination will result in warnings or immediate loss of the event entry wristband and being reported to Virgin Voyages without a refund. Some examples of harassment include, but are not limited to, offensive or unwanted verbal comments and/or physical gestures, physical assault, unwanted sexual comments or gestures, stalking, inappropriate and unwanted physical contact or attention. Some examples of discrimination include but are not limited to, disability, appearance, religion, race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, and/or citizenship. Booking a voyage on the LoveLit Cruise also constitutes acceptance of Virgin Voyages' Sailor Conduct Policy. Determination of a violation of these policies is at the sole discretion of the LoveLit Cruise staff or representatives.

Will there be group excursions I can join?

YES! There is a group excursion planned. All booked attendees will be given access to join. The group excursion is an additional fee. 

 

Will there be a pre-cruise hotel?

We have a hotel block at the Yotel Miami. All booked attendees will be given access to join.

Are there group dinners?

YES! Group dinners are nightly at 5:45 pm. We know it's early, but it's the only time Virgin can seat a group of our size. You will have the option to opt-out of group dinners if you prefer.

What happens onboard if I don’t join a shore excursion? 

It’s a great time to enjoy the ship’s amenities while others are exploring ashore. I highly recommend checking out the spa, which is often running port day specials! The port at Grand Turk also has a free pool and chairs you can utilize at Margaritaville. The Beach Club at Bimini is included.

Why do the conference events start in the morning? 

We work with the ship and around their pre-planned activities and shows. We have to book the Manor, where the panels and q&a session are located, when they don't have shows or parties. The only time it is available to us is the morning.

My partner isn’t a fan of romance books. Is there anything for them to do? 

Yes! One of the best things about cruising is the wide range of activities available to suit every interest. For more details, check out our Cruise FAQ page. We will also host some MVP (most valuable plus one) events during the panels and Q&A sessions.​
